Sometimes inspiration for the artwork created by Craig S. Bomberger comes from nature; quotes; music or song lyrics; places, destinations and experiences; or the artists’ own dreams and imagination. The four featured artworks from August - October 2024 all center around the theme of “Heating Up.” We’ve been told we are having the coolest summer of our lives; but, are we adding to the heat as we try to be ‘cool’ about climate change?
“This artwork was created during the 2023 Summer Brunch Church / Group Discussions on Heaven and Hell. The idea that came to mind was to show ways in which we could experience Hell on Earth. [Fun Fact: The Sermon also included a tie to that notion as well]. This was painted at the time of the Canadian wildfires and this image is to represent the evergreen tree burning while still trying to grow.
May you find ways and make space for your days be more like Heaven on Earth than Hell on Earth.”
