Sometimes inspiration for the artwork created by Craig S. Bomberger comes from nature; quotes; music or song lyrics; places, destinations and experiences; or the artists’ own dreams and imagination. The four featured artworks from August - October 2024 all center around the theme of “Heating Up.” We’ve been told we are having the coolest summer of our lives; but, are we adding to the heat as we try to be ‘cool’ about climate change?

“I was taught about the speed of light, the way light travels, and a variety of topics around light; but, I don’t know that I was ever provided the same knowledge on how the rays from the sun can bounce off objects, be absorbed into others, be blocked, or obstructed. I must say that would seem like information that would be helpful as more and more of the UV Rays from the sun are headed toward Earth. This artwork was created as a way to show all the ways the sun’s rays might be able to move and travel. They even appear to change in color and saturation when placed in-front of a pale creamy yellow background to a dark ultramarine blue one.”
