Sometimes inspiration for the artwork created by Craig S. Bomberger comes from nature; quotes; music or song lyrics; places, destinations and experiences; or the artists’ own dreams and imagination. The four featured artworks from August - October 2024 all center around the theme of “Heating Up.” We’ve been told we are having the coolest summer of our lives; but, are we adding to the heat as we try to be ‘cool’ about climate change?

“As a child I don’t remember being told the importance of sunglasses or even what polarized sunglasses were. In fact during the solar eclipse in Middle School we went outside to view it with the instructions not to look directly at it; although, to this day I’m not sure how you were supposed to see it. All that to say, as much as things have changed on those bright days when the sun is shining we may still get sun spots! This artwork aims to encapsulate those glowing bubbles of light that linger with us after we’ve received bright light in our eyes and view the world around us overlayed by the cosmos.”
